Description
Iolites are so unique because while they on the surface look blue/purple, as you turn them they can appear to be grey. They can be compared to tanzanites in color, but are harder on the mohs scale.
This dainty twisted rope ring has about .9ct of untreated pear shaped stones, set in sterling silver. The ring is a size 4.25, with the teardrop shaped stones measuring about 6mm x 4mm each. The ring follows the theme of intertwined, using bypass style shank to let the pears sit on top of each other. There is a matching cluster necklace and earrings in my shop to complete the set.
- Stones: Natural Untreated Iolites
- Gemstone Color: Deep Purple/Blue
- Metal: Sterling Silver
- Ring Size: 4.25
What makes this special? The feel of the entire iolite set is made to be dainty, intertwined, clustered and coupled. Iolites are not rare, but this setting is. The metal wraps around itself and gently around the finger, allowing each stone to lay on top of each other. They are connected at the setting, allowing no gap, and connected by the shank. The twist is not restrictive, it’s embraced. The stones are not weighing on each, but bonded securely to each other. It’s a deep, innocent, old love that creates this ring.
